Belgian heavymetallers SHOCKER reveal the artwork and title of the debut record

The birth of Shocker is dated somewhere in 2018 but the idea was spinning trough theminds of Sammy and Koen for a long time but the idea got postponed due otherchallenges/obligations we all run into in our daily lives. When in 2017 Sammy was askedto perform guest vocals for a gig from the coverband “Back to Back”, a band who had Koen and David as members at that time, that’s when the idea of Shocker surfaced again and the decision was made to grab the bull by the horns and the journey to find the rightpeople who would fit in the idea of Shocker had began.

Koen and David already joined their forces in B2B so the logical next step happened and David joined the band. Vinnytook place behind the drums and a number of guitarplayers passed by. However, the missing link could not be found. Hard choices had tobe made and we had to let Vinny go as well.

Finally the musical gods smiled upon us and delivered us Jelle on the drums and Chris onthe guitar, that’s whenthe pieces of the puzzle fell into place and Shocker took hisform.

Chris brings an 70’s psychedelic / rock vibe to the table andturned out to be a piano/key wizard as well and Jelle has the wide knowledge and tools toadd the rhythm and the crazy fills that Shocker needs. Koen, the man who’s mind neversleeps, the man with a thousand ideas that keeps everyone pushing themselves and think outside of the box. David is the solid rock of the band who keeps everything tight with hisunique guitar playing that keeps amazing us. Last but not least we have Sammy, he seems to have found a more mature version of himself and shows that he is capable of much more than just the high pitch screams.

With everyone having a different musical background we try to find similar ground and that is where our magic happens and the Shocker sound is taking form. Mixing genres/styles without being stuck to the boundaries that comes within the genre is one of thethings we like to do and the possibilities seemsendless so we still have wide path to walkupon.

Just like everyone involved in the music industry we had a crappy 2020 and we all hadto struggle to survive, nevertheless Shocker was lucky as hell when we could hit the studio in between coronawaves and record our first EP @ closed sessions recording studio with Kristof Maes turningthe knobs.

The EP was released in march 2021 and got a lot of promising reviews. Sadly Jelle decided he had to leave the band due priority/time issues. The search for a new drummer was upon us once again.

As higher forces seems to be involved we ran in to Louis Genovese and the shocker spark lit a new fire. New songs that seem to be heavier and darker where forged by that fire.

Proudly we can announce that a full album is done and will be released in 2023. The album was recorded and mixed @shellshock studios by Pieter Nyckees and mastered by Frederik Dejongh @Jerboa mastering.
