“Dark of the Night” is the debut album of Lokheira, a young American band who have chosen power metal as the defining style of their band. About the beginnings of the band and this album two of its members, Rob and Irene, told.

Hi Lokheira! How are you? It’s a pleasure to interview you.

Hi! Pleasure to be here and we’re grateful for your interest in us!

According to your bio, the band was born in 2022, so you’ve only been created for 2 years. How did the idea of creating the band come up?

We all liked metal from a young age. Irene would always sing along to bands like Evanescence and Within Temptation. Rob first took up drums and eventually guitar because of it and George used to play bass in a death metal band. Rob always wanted to make music so when he got better at guitar he took a shot at it with George on bass, and Irene singing. “Battle of the Hot Gates” was actually our first song and from there we just decided to keep it going.

Who are its current members and where do they come from?

Rob Ramaglino is the drummer, screamer, and guitarist. He comes from Sussex, New Jersey but eventually moved to California.

Irene (Mavroudis) Ramaglino is the vocalist and comes from South San Francisco, California.

George Mavroudis is on bass, acoustics, and backup vocals and is also from South San Francisco, California.

What would you mention as your main influences?

Overall, main influences would be Orbit Culture, Unleash The Archers, and Pink Floyd.

How would you define your musical style?

We’d probably call it melodic groove/power metal. A lot of driving beats with melodic vocals at the heart of it.

Before talking about “Dark of The Night”, your first album, let me congratulate you because I was listening to it at the same time I was doing this interview and I enjoyed it a lot, so congratulations!

Thanks so much! We’re really excited to finally get our music out there.

About this album. How was the editing and recording process?

Recording was fun! But mixing and mastering was tough. Rob is learning as he goes on how to do it. However, it’s starting to become an easier process now.

How many songs does it include and what are it about?

There are eight songs in total on this album. First song is a basic overview of the whole album and the other seven are individually about one of the 7 Deadly Sins.

Regarding the promotion and diffusion of the same. I know that you have just signed with the Wormholedeath label, of which I know the excellent promotion and diffusion work they do. How do you plan to promote and publicize it?

Aside from Wormholedeath’s incredible job at promoting us, we’re mostly taking to social media with short videos, pictures, and updates!

Do you already have an official concert planned or do you plan to present it digitally?

Unfortunately, because Rob plays multiple instruments and we don’t have a 4th member to take over on one of the instruments, we can’t play shows quite yet (it is definitely our goal in the future though!). Presenting our music digitally is our only option at the moment.

Do you have any audiovisual material?

We currently have a lyric video for Beast Within (Wrath). We plan to make more videos in the future.

How do you think it will be received, in general, both by the public and by the specialized press?

By more melodic fans, we would hope quite well. Even the fans who love hard hitting riffs, breakdowns and screams we would hope take an interest as well.

Where will it be possible to obtain a copy of it?

On any streaming platform and soon enough we’ll have physical CDs so either through us or Wormholedeath!

Back to the band. As I said at the beginning, you are still relatively young. But I would like to know how have these 2 years of life of the band been for you?

FUN. The three of us mesh quite well together and, even though it can be stressful sometimes, it’s enjoyable working together with family.

Has it been difficult for you to advance, little by little, in your dream of the band?

A bit difficult, yes, mainly because we currently can’t play shows, which is the best way to get your name out there.

How would you like to see yourselves in the future, for example 5 years from now?

Definitely playing shows consistently. We all REALLY want to play live and will eventually have the means to do so.

Well Lokheira, this is all. Thank you for your time and wish you the best of luck and success in your career. Before we finish, anything you would like to say.

Thanks again so much for this interview. It means a lot that you take time to give smaller bands a voice. Here’s our linktree for our social media and musical outlets (https://linktr.ee/lokheira). One last thing, we also have a 3 song EP out called Enoxos (which can also be found on all platforms) and we have another full length album coming out soon!
